RowCoach

How RowCoach works and where automated feedback has limits

Support

RowCoach works best with a side-on camera view that keeps your wrist, hip, knee, ankle, and shoe visible through the full rowing stroke.

Camera Setup

Place the camera directly side-on to the erg, about 2–3 m (7–10 ft) away with the lens at seat height, and keep it level. Allow browser camera access, keep the full athlete in frame through the whole stroke, and press Reset if you move the camera or foot stretcher. The app shows an in-frame setup guide before the camera starts and tells you which joint it cannot see if tracking drops. Follow the illustrated side-view camera setup guide for framing, leveling, calibration, privacy, and troubleshooting details.

Troubleshooting

If tracking looks wrong, improve lighting, remove visual clutter behind the athlete, keep the full stroke in frame, and confirm the correct visible side and facing settings. If the browser blocks the camera, reset camera permission in browser site settings and reload RowCoach. RowCoach works best in an up-to-date Chrome or Edge browser on a computer; other modern browsers such as Safari 16.4+ and Firefox generally work but see less testing.

Billing and RowCoach Pro

Subscriptions are handled by Stripe. Use the RowCoach billing portal to manage your plan, cancel, or update your payment method. RowCoach Pro unlocks the live form coach after the backend confirms your subscription. If Pro does not show as active after checkout, reload the app and contact support if verification still does not complete.

Accounts

The form coach requires an account with an active RowCoach Pro subscription. Production sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication, works across devices, and supports password reset from the home page. If cloud sign-in is temporarily unavailable, production sign-in remains unavailable until Firebase recovers; RowCoach never substitutes a local identity. Browser storage holds local settings and session history; clearing it removes those local items but does not delete your Firebase account or Stripe-backed Pro entitlement.

Privacy and Terms

Review the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service for details about local video processing, ephemeral encrypted landmark analysis, Stripe billing, safety limits, and acceptable use.

Safety

RowCoach is a coaching aid, not medical advice or a replacement for a qualified rowing coach. Stop exercising if you feel pain, dizziness, or unsafe discomfort.
