RowCoach is operated by CMC Factory LLC. These terms govern your access to and use of the RowCoach website, browser-based rowing form coach, free and paid plans, and support resources. By using RowCoach or purchasing a subscription, you agree to these terms.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use RowCoach. If you use RowCoach on behalf of a team, business, school, or organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these terms for that organization.
Coaching Aid Only
RowCoach is not medical advice, physical therapy, or a substitute for a qualified rowing coach. RowCoach provides automated technique feedback that can be incomplete or inaccurate. Stop exercising if you feel pain, dizziness, or unsafe discomfort, and consult a qualified professional before beginning or changing an exercise program.
Plans and Subscriptions
RowCoach Check-In is free. It does not require a payment method and is not a subscription. New paid RowCoach subscriptions are billed through Stripe at a monthly base price: RowCoach Pro at $14.99 USD. Prices may be subject to applicable taxes. The exact total shown at Stripe Checkout controls your purchase.
Current paid RowCoach subscriptions do not include a delayed-charge promotional period. Paid subscriptions are charged when Stripe Checkout completes. A paid subscription and paid access begin only after payment succeeds, and each paid subscription automatically renews monthly until canceled.
Stripe may offer payment in a local currency. Stripe Checkout shows the exact charged currency and amount before purchase, and the applicable Stripe billing record shows the exact amount for later subscription charges. Stripe’s exchange rate includes a conversion fee, so a local-currency total can vary on renewal even when the underlying USD base price remains unchanged.
Annual and founding annual subscriptions are closed to new purchases. Existing annual and founding subscribers retain the billing cadence, price, renewal, cancellation, and other terms disclosed and accepted when they purchased. The separate Founding Annual Promotion Terms continue to govern an existing founding subscription. Historical subscriptions, promotional access periods, first-paid-period carryover, and coaching-time lots created under earlier offers remain governed by the terms accepted when they were created and by RowCoach’s authoritative billing and entitlement records. Those historical records do not create another promotional access period or restore a closed offer.
You can manage cancellation, invoices, receipts, and payment methods through the RowCoach billing portal. Cancellation prevents the next renewal charge and takes effect according to the option shown in Stripe at the time you cancel. When a paid subscription ends, an otherwise eligible account returns to free Check-In; canceling does not delete the account or saved Progress history.
Protected Live-Coaching Time
RowCoach Check-In includes 5 minutes (300 seconds) of authorized protected live-coaching connection time in each UTC calendar month and warns after 4 minutes of use. New RowCoach Pro subscriptions include 25 hours (90,000 seconds) in each UTC calendar month and warn after 22 hours and 30 minutes. Existing subscribers retain their original plan allowances and billing terms.
Free Check-In time begins only after warm-up finishes and live coaching starts. Paid-plan connected time begins after the protected service authorizes a session and includes setup, warm-up, active rowing, reacquisition, tracking pauses, and user pauses while that connection remains open. Once Free Check-In live coaching starts, pauses, reacquisition, and resets also count until the connection closes. Included time does not roll over. Protected live coaching pauses when the time available on the current plan is exhausted.
Extra Coaching Time is available only to an active monthly RowCoach Pro subscriber at the current $14.99 monthly base price. Each $12.99 USD base-price purchase adds 10 banked hours (36,000 seconds), plus applicable tax. Packs are one-time purchases and do not auto-renew. Each pack never expires and is consumed after included time in oldest-purchase-first order. Check-In and Starter cannot purchase or consume banked time. Existing current or historical banked time is retained but unavailable while the account is on one of those plans, and becomes available again after the account returns to an eligible Pro or recognized legacy plan.
Refunds
New subscriptions and renewal charges are non-refundable except where required by applicable law or where RowCoach confirms an unauthorized transaction, duplicate charge, or other verified billing error. You may cancel at any time to prevent a future renewal. If you believe you were billed in error, email support@rowcoach.live or call RowCoach support at 314-445-4471 and we will review the request in good faith.
A completely untouched Extra Coaching Time pack is fully refundable within seven days only if none of that pack has been consumed. The refund decision is made for each pack separately. Once any time from a pack has been consumed, that pack is non-refundable except where applicable law requires otherwise.
A purchase or founding conversion accepted under a prior version that promised a satisfaction guarantee remains governed by that version and RowCoach’s backend eligibility checks. Nothing in these terms limits non-waivable statutory rights or other consumer protections.
Acceptable Use
Do not misuse the app, interfere with its operation, use RowCoach where camera use is prohibited, submit unlawful or harmful requests, or use RowCoach in a way that could damage the service or other users.
Limited License
Subject to these terms, RowCoach grants you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the service solely for its intended rowing coaching purpose. You may not sublicense, sell, assign, or otherwise transfer this license. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by CMC Factory LLC and its licensors.
Proprietary Technology
RowCoach and its nonpublic technology, including source code, server-side algorithms, scoring rules, calibration, thresholds, architecture, methods, data structures, and analysis systems, are proprietary to CMC Factory LLC or its licensors. They are protected by intellectual property and other laws and may include confidential information and trade secrets. Access to RowCoach or its coaching results does not grant you ownership of, or any license to, that nonpublic technology except for the limited right to use the service stated above.
Prohibited Uses
Except to the extent a restriction is prohibited by applicable law, you may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, derive, discover, or attempt model extraction of RowCoach's source code, algorithms, scoring logic, rules, calibration, thresholds, architecture, or methods. You may not use synthetic or automated inputs to probe, map, infer, or reproduce the service's nonpublic behavior; scrape, harvest, bulk query, record, or replay service traffic or coaching results; or use RowCoach, its behavior, or its outputs to build, train, benchmark, validate, or improve any competing product, model, or service without prior written permission from CMC Factory LLC.
You also may not copy, modify, distribute, resell, sublicense, or create a derivative service from RowCoach; share access credentials or session tickets; bypass payment, entitlement, rate-limit, admission, or other security controls; use multiple accounts to evade restrictions; or help another person do any of these things.
Security and Confidentiality
If you obtain nonpublic technical information about RowCoach through an error, vulnerability, accidental disclosure, or unauthorized access, you must not use or disclose it and must promptly notify support@rowcoach.live so we can investigate. Nothing in these terms prohibits a good-faith security report or any activity that applicable law does not allow us to restrict.
Enforcement and Remedies
Unauthorized use or disclosure of RowCoach's nonpublic technology may cause irreparable harm for which monetary damages are inadequate. To the extent permitted by law, CMC Factory LLC may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in addition to any other available rights or remedies. The Limited License, Proprietary Technology, Prohibited Uses, Security and Confidentiality, Enforcement and Remedies, Intellectual Property, Disclaimer, Limitation of Liability, and Governing Law sections survive suspension, termination, or expiration of your access or these terms.
Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for your device, internet connection, camera setup, exercise environment, browser permissions, and safe use of RowCoach. Make sure your rowing area is clear and that use of a webcam is appropriate for your setting.
Personal Training Guidance
Coach Training relationships and publication
Coach Training and AI draft processing are not active in production. If RowCoach later makes Coach Training available, it begins only after an athlete accepts an invitation, gives consent, and accepts the then-current legal terms. An athlete may have one active coach at a time and may revoke that relationship. A coach may use shared structured rowing evidence and coach notes to build a private draft. If the coach explicitly requests AI assistance, an AI provider may process that bounded structured information. The AI result remains a private draft: the coach must review and publish it before the athlete can see or execute it. RowCoach does not automatically request, approve, or publish a plan.
RowCoach Training may organize goals, scheduled prescriptions, workout reports, and bounded plan-adjustment proposals from the information and supported evidence available to the service. Training guidance is informational fitness guidance, not medical diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, or a substitute for advice from a qualified health professional or rowing coach. Begin only when you feel ready and the rowing area is clear. Stop rowing for pain, dizziness, or unusual distress and seek appropriate help.
Effort, fatigue, discomfort, notes, entered results, and personal records are self-reported unless RowCoach expressly labels a result as measured from a server-verified eligible owner PM5 session. Personal records and automated technique summaries are not certifications or independently verified competition results. Missing, partial, disconnected, or incomparable sources limit the report and may suppress a plan adjustment; RowCoach does not infer missing measurements or guarantee a training result.
Live Analysis Data
Webcam video and images remain on your device and are not uploaded or stored by RowCoach. While live coaching is active, your browser sends derived pose landmarks and timing over an encrypted connection for ephemeral analysis. RowCoach does not store those pose packets or the analysis service's in-memory session state. Aggregate session summaries may be stored as described in the Privacy Policy so you can review and manage your progress.
If you connect Concept2, RowCoach mirrors only selected-range indoor-rowing performance and keeps RowCoach, PM5, and Concept2 values source-labelled. Uploads are additions to your Concept2 Logbook; RowCoach does not send comments, client metadata, a ranking claim, or a privacy setting, and Concept2 applies your existing privacy setting. Disconnect, local removal, Logbook clearing, and RowCoach account deletion do not delete workouts held by Concept2.
Intellectual Property
RowCoach, including its software, interface, copy, branding, and feedback system, is owned by CMC Factory LLC or its licensors. These terms do not transfer ownership of RowCoach to you. You may use RowCoach only as permitted by these terms.
Third-Party Services
RowCoach relies on third-party services such as Stripe for payments and billing, Firebase Hosting for hosting, and browser pose-analysis assets loaded from public hosting providers. Those services may have their own terms and policies.
Concept2 is a separate third-party service. You authorize its connection in Concept2, may remove RowCoach from the Applications area of your Concept2 account, and remain responsible for reviewing the workout and privacy settings stored there.
Limitations
Pose estimates can be affected by camera angle, lighting, clothing, body proportions, and erg setup. RowCoach does not guarantee that all form issues will be detected.
Availability and Changes
We may update, suspend, or discontinue parts of RowCoach at any time. We may also update these terms. If changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to provide notice, such as updating the last-updated date on this page.
Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to RowCoach, limit service functionality, or take reasonable protective measures if we reasonably believe you violated these terms, threaten the service or another user, infringed intellectual property, or attempted to extract or misuse nonpublic technology. Termination does not limit rights or remedies that arose before termination.
Disclaimer
RowCoach is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or specific training results.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CMC Factory LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, or for injuries or losses resulting from unsafe exercise, camera setup, or reliance on automated feedback.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Missouri, excluding conflict-of-law rules, unless a different law is required by applicable consumer protection law.
